A Journey of Self-Discovery

From a young age, Tasha experienced emotional fluctuations and daily anxiety, feeling that something wasn’t quite right. Responsible for caring for a family member with mental health difficulties as a teenager sparked a curiosity for human behavior and emotion. This led to a career in mental health support, training as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner within the NHS and progressing to a Psychological Therapist, providing High-Intensity Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

However, her personal journey of self-inquiry began when a minor car accident resulted in lower back pain. Seeking various treatments and medical advice offered no improvements. This led her to explore the connection between deep-seated emotions and physical health, discovering how trauma can reside in the body.

Enter yoga. Attending neurogenic yoga and traveling to Sri Lanka for a retreat, she learned the importance of self-care and established a regular practice. This heightened her awareness of physical and emotional health, leading to dietary and lifestyle changes. As a result, her lower back pain reduced, life became more enjoyable, and a deeper connection to herself and the world was cultivated.

Discovering Yoga Therapy was a turning point, resonating with her personal journey. She trained as a Yoga Therapist, even journeying to Costa Rica for Yoga Teacher training. This path eventually led to the creation of Ascend Wellness!
